Polynesian Voyaging Society

From 2013 to 2017, we journeyed on the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage, sailing over 45,000 nautical miles and weaving a lei of hope around the world. These images reflect connections made and the inspiration that this effort continues to bring to individuals and communities worldwide. We hope you enjoy the collection of photos. This site is supported by SmugMug and fulfilled by PhotoBay. A portion of proceeds will go directly to the Polynesian Voyaging Society!

Photo Comments: This epic four-year journey engaged over a million people, directly and virtually. The voyage would not have been possible without the generosity of individuals and groups across the world who supported the Voyage and its crew members, staff, and volunteers. If you are familiar with any of the people or places featured here, please take a few minutes to share with our global community information about the photo: place names, people & groups, or experiences. Each photo has a comment box below. Mahalo nui!

Founded on a legacy of Pacific Ocean exploration, the Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) seeks to perpetuate the art and science of traditional Polynesian voyaging and the spirit of exploration through experiential educational programs that inspire students and their communities to respect and care for themselves, one another, and their natural and cultural environments.
